274306-making-dining-out-count On Thursday, June 18 in honor of World Refugee Day, six Atlanta restaurants will donate a portion of their proceeds to the International Rescue Committee...The six participating restaurants are Apres Diem, Carpe Diem, Cafe Alsace, Imperial Fez and Ibiza Restaurant and Lounge, Mezcalito's Cantina, and the Carroll Street Cafe.

The International Rescue Committee provides emergency relief, rehabilitation, protection of human rights, post-conflict development, resettlement services and advocacy for those uprooted or affected by violent conflict and oppression...The IRC provides aid to refugees in 42 countries and helps to resettle them in the United States trough 24 regional offices...IRC Atlanta, located in Decatur, is the largest resettlement agenct in Georgia...Since its opening in 1979, the office has resettled more than 18,000 refugees from more than 35 countries...IRC helps to provide basic housing, food, clothing and transportation as well as counseling, job placement, English language classes, youth programs and community orientation services.
