ATLANTA (AP) Georgia Tech is holding an inauguration for the campus' new president.
The ceremony for G.P. ``Bud'' Peterson to be installed as the Atlanta university's leader will be Thursday at 10:30 a.m. at Georgia Tech's Alexander Memorial Coliseum. Gov. Sonny Perdue and University System of Georgia Chancellor Erroll Davis are expected to attend.
Peterson took office in April, succeeding G. Wayne Clough, who left last year to run the Smithsonian Institution in Washington, D.C.
The 57-year-old Peterson was chancellor at the University of Colorado at Boulder before being hired at Georgia Tech. He has a doctorate in mechanical engineering and is a former NASA researcher.
