ATHENS, Ga. (AP) - Sen. Johnny Isakson, who spent five days in a hospital last week, has postponed a visit to the University of Georgia while he continues his recovery.
Isakson was admitted to Piedmont Hospital for an irregular heartbeat and a blood clot in his leg. He was released to recover at home Friday.
Isakson was admitted to Northside Hospital with a bacterial infection on March 22 and released three days later. A doctor found the irregular heartbeat and blood clot during a follow-up exam.
He was scheduled to spend Thursday afternoon on the UGA campus to give the annual Getzen Lecture on Government Accountability and talk with law students on health care and other federal issues.
The UGA School of Public and International Affairs says Isakson's lecture will be postponed until fall.
