Keywords:(WSB Radio) Some well known local names are behind a bid to build a $72 million youth sports complex in southwest Cobb County.
The Cobb Commission has now given the county development authority the OK to spend $450,000 on a study.
Dream Parks Management, the group that's pushing the park near Powder Springs, would give a similar amount for the study.
The group includes State Representative Earl Ehrhart, former County Court Administrator Skip Chesshire and former Atlanta Braves coach Ned Yost, now the general manager of the Milwaukee Brewers.
The 372 acre complex would include baseball, soccer and lacrosse fields, along with retail space.
The project would be funded through the issuance of county bonds.
