Deputy Caught on Video, Suspended

Published April 21, 2010 at 10:02 a.m.

(WSB Radio) -- The Fulton County Sheriff's Department has opened an internal investigation into the actions of a deputy who's in trouble for what he did after a Braves' game over the weekend.

The unnamed deputy, who was working an off-duty security job for the Atlanta Braves, was caught on tape after Saturday night's game at Turner Field as two apparently drunk fans tried to take pictures of each other sitting on the deputy's motorcycle.

The deputy shouted profanities and punched one of the men in the head...He handcuffed and threatened to use his taser on the other man, even though he was peaceful and apologizing profusely.

The video has been posted on YouTube.

In a written statement, Sheriff Ted Jackson said "we will follow the evidence wherever it leads us...Please be certain that this type of behavior will not be tolerated."
