Hear a new (old) R.E.M. song

Tomorrow, an obscure Georgia indie rock band called R.E.M. will release the 25th Anniversary Deluxe Edition of their legendary third album Fables of the Reconstruction. Along with a remastered version of the album itself, the reissue will feature a collection of previously unreleased demos.

One of those demos is now streaming at the R.E.M. site. "Throw Those Trolls Away" sounds, well, like early R.E.M. Which, you know, it is. No surprises here, but if you're a fan, it should serve to get you pretty excited about the reissue. It's also particularly rough-edged: at one point Michael Stipe is heard saying "can you turn the guitar up a little bit?"
