Biermann Key to Falcons' New Pass-Rush Plan

Published May 9, 2010 at 8:42 a.m.

FLOWERY BRANCH, Ga. (AP) Jamaal Anderson wants to be more like Justin Tuck. John Abraham wants to be more like John Abraham.

Kroy Biermann may be the key for both defensive ends and the Atlanta Falcons' pass rush in 2010.

Biermann was a surprise with five sacks last season. His big-play potential has Anderson, a first-round pick in 2007, working at defensive tackle on passing downs in minicamp. Anderson's move from end clears at least a part-time role for Biermann.

Anderson is hoping to play like Tuck, the New York Giants' star who has thrived in a similar swing role.

The 32-year-old Abraham is aiming for a return to his 2008 form, when he had 16.5 sacks. He slumped to 5.5 sacks last year as the Falcons tied for 26th in the league with only 28.
